Businesses Should Play a Role in College Education


Everyone agrees that affordable access to college-level education is a must. But there are other things we should be worrying about besides cost and access. Quality is foremost on the list. According to a recent study, 45% of U.S. students showed no improvement in critical-thinking skills after two years in college. And let's not forget about great students who can't find suitable work. This begs the question: is college fulfilling its purpose? In some cases, no. So what can we do about it? Well, for their part, businesses should step up their game. How? They can provide colleges with data, feedback, and suggestions about how to better prepare students for work.
