September 06, 2013 An "Overwhelming" Workload Shouldn't Be A Badge of HonorSlammed. Swamped. Buried. Drowning. These are all descriptions we use to describe our workloads. We're all busy, there's no denying it. But some people — you know who you are — get some sort of odd pleasure out of complaining about how "extremely" busy they are. They consider it a badge of honor, and they are quick to use it as an excuse to get out of certain obligations. This needs to stop. For one, always complaining about one's workload is egocentric and disrespectful — "My time is more important than your time." Plus, if someone's working 15-hour days, there's a pretty good chance they aren't working in the most efficient manner. So stop complaining, and work smarter.
