Down with Bosses?


You don't need a hierarchy to succeed. From non-profits, to software start-ups, gaming companies, and even manufacturing firms, a host of organizations have adopted flat organizational structures to great effect. It's not for everyone, of course. But innovation-centric companies competing in rapidly changing industries can benefit from having small, autonomous teams. They're much more nimble.
