More Men Than Women Prefer a Female Boss

Here's an interesting stat: a higher percentage of women (40%) than men (29%) strongly prefer a male boss over a female boss. It's a complicated issue, for sure. But it seems that pro-male gender bias is affecting women's choices and preferences to some degree. In some cases — say, if you were a legal secretary — it can be more advantageous to have a male boss since he may experience more upward mobility than a female peer. Another issue is the centuries-old, women-are-too-emotional-to-lead stereotype. It's not just males who believe it, unfortunately — some women do, too.
