Biases and Misperceptions About Older Job Candidates


If you're unemployed, but have a wealth of experience and a great educational background, you might think you'd be able to secure a job. Unfortunately, that's just not the case. In this economy, age and education can be handicaps. Some hiring managers, for example, view older candidates as less energetic and less technologically savvy than younger ones. There's also the perception (often wrong) that more experienced workers will demand higher salaries, or will jump ship if more money presents itself.
