Why So Many Leaders Are Narcissists

Have you ever wondered why there seems to be a preponderance of narcissists among leaders? There are a few reasons why narcissists tend to rise to the top of their fields. They're masters of first impressions, for one. They put on a good act, and disguise their arrogance as confidence. They're also master manipulators and self promoters — they take credit for the work of others, and they're quick to pass the blame when things go wrong. And, for the most part, their selfishness and overconfidence aren't handicaps, since so many people believe that variations of these characteristics are actually prerequisites for leadership.
